More than 30,000 expected to attend ceremony in downtown ballpark

San Francisco State University’s 117th Commencement has been scheduled for Thursday, May 24, 2018, at AT&T Park. The ceremony will be held at the downtown ballpark for the fourth consecutive year, and more than 30,000 graduates, family members and friends are expected to attend.

About 8,800 students received their undergraduate and graduate degrees during the May 2017 ceremony, when featured speaker and alumna Neda Nobari urged them to fight for decency, compassion and truth in a democratic society. Other speakers included Alicia Garza, the graduate speaker and the co-founder of Black Lives Matter, and Talia Hart, the undergraduate speaker.

More information about the ceremony can be found at commencement.sfsu.edu. The site will be updated throughout the spring semester as additional information becomes available.
