University reopens gym, dedicates Nasser plaza

SF State showed off its renovated Gymnasium and dedicated the building's Don Nasser Family Plaza in front on Thursday, formally signaling the completion of a $2 million upgrade of the University's athletics facilities. The plaza in front of the Gymnasium was named in honor of Don Nasser (B.A. '63), whose generous donation was key to funding the renovations.

Renovations included replacing the gym floor and bleachers and remodeling the locker rooms. At Thursday's event, Nasser shot the ceremonial "first basket." The basketball was then signed by student-athletes and presented to Nasser as a gift.
