Message from the President following campus evacuation

Dear Campus Community,

Today’s bomb threat and evacuation, I am sure, has left everyone concerned. I write with the good news that law enforcement has determined there is no threat. I am grateful to all, particularly the University Police Department, staff and faculty who worked quickly to ensure the safety of our campus, and to our students who quickly evacuated. I am also grateful for the assistance we received from the San Francisco Police Department and others.

All finals originally scheduled for Friday will be administered as planned.

At the discretion of faculty members, courses affected by canceled or interrupted finals on Thursday may either offer a make-up exam or provide students with a take-home alternative to the originally scheduled exam. Students should contact their instructors for further direction. Students with questions and concerns about canceled finals may also reach out to the Undergraduate Advising Center (UAC) at (415) 338-2101.

This incident serves as a reminder that we, as a University community, must support each other during these situations. For students in need of additional support during this time, please contact University Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at (415) 338-2208.
