GYM closure due to water damage, Monday (Nov. 18)

For Monday, Nov. 18, all classes and activities are canceled in the main gymnasium (GYM) at San Francisco State University, and the building is closed due to flood damage. During the closure, access will not be permitted to offices, labs, locker rooms and other facilities in the GYM. For faculty and staff affected by the GYM closure, please contact your supervisor or department chair to coordinate your work activity for the day.

At approximately, 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov 17, a water leak was detected in the GYM resulting in significant flooding and potential structural damage. Participants at a wrestling competition in progress and others on site were promptly evacuated. 

Crews have been on site to assess damage and perform repairs. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
