Statement of condolences from President Wong regarding Mayor Ed Lee

Mrs. Wong and I are deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of our friend Mayor Ed Lee. Since our arrival at SF State, Mayor Lee was instrumental in supporting our efforts in San Francisco, and in strengthening our partnership. Mrs. Wong and I offer our deepest condolences to the Lee family, particularly to his wife Anita and daughters Brianna and Tania. Mayor Ed Lee was a good man, a dedicated and humble public servant, and the prominence of San Francisco is in large measure due to his hard work.
