Remembering our colleagues

The following e-mail was sent to the campus community on April 17, 2014:

Dear students, faculty and staff:

All of us in higher education continue to mourn the tragic loss that occurred as Los Angeles area students traveled to Humboldt State University for a visit April 10. We offer condolences and support to families, friends and teachers who are coping now with this unthinkable tragedy.

Please join me on Thursday, April 17 at 12:30 p.m. in observing a moment of silence to demonstrate our concern and support for those affected by this loss. Our colleagues at Humboldt State University will hold a remembrance event at that time, and it seems only fitting to take a pause from our daily routine to demonstrate our support and caring at this time of great sorrow.
