University receives maximum WASC reaccreditation
The following e-mail was sent to the campus community on July 16, 2013:
Dear colleague:
We are delighted to share the good news that the Western Association of Schools & Colleges has completed SF State’s accreditation review, and advised us that they have reaccredited our University for the maximum period possible—ten years.
This reflects incredible teamwork across the campus, as we worked together over the several-year reaccreditation process to ensure the quality of our academic programs and document the strengths of our University. Your hard work was clearly noticed by the WASC team, which praised SF State’s progress with the Student Success and Graduation initiatives, our handling of significant losses in state funding, and our commitments to social justice, civic engagement and diversity.
I encourage you to read the summary report from WASC at /sites/default/files/u10/San_Francisco_State_University_Action%20Letter_access.pdf and to take great pride in the team’s praise of our University. This achievement reflects on the excellent work that you do every day, and we greatly appreciate your contributions.
Sincerely,
Les Wong,
President
