Women’s Emerging Leadership Forum to explore “Leading Through Uncertainty”

Since 2014, the Women’s Emerging Leadership Forum has brought together women who are successful and aspiring leaders to exchange ideas, hard-earned insights, and support. The Lam Family College of Business event is returning Friday, April 2, with an appropriate new theme: “Leading Through Uncertainty.” Though this year’s forum will address the special challenges of our turbulent times, the focus will remain squarely on developing and empowering female leadership.

To be held virtually this year, the forum will kick off with keynote speaker Kimberly Ellis, director of the San Francisco Department on the Status of Women. Named the most powerful unelected person in California Democratic politics by the Sacramento Bee, Ellis has helped shape the landscape of progressive and grassroots politics in California and beyond. Other guest speakers will represent an array of female leaders — some of whom are SF State alumnae — from the worlds of business, ranging from startups to blue-chip companies, and academia.

Participants will share knowledge, learn how to avoid common pitfalls on the path to career advancement and identify ways to enhance leadership skills while making meaningful connections and expanding professional networks. Faculty, staff, students, alumni and other community members are invited to attend.
