SF State’s Winter Session 2019 will offer more classes online

Students looking to get ahead and out of the cold this winter can use San Francisco State University’s Winter Session to move four units closer to achieving their degree.

Open to San Francisco State students and the greater Bay Area community, Winter Session offers more than 60 classes — 22 lower division and 40 upper division — and is held from Jan. 2 through Jan. 24.

While classes are offered on campus, students enjoying winter break outside of the Bay Area have more than 40 online courses to choose from.

“SF State is committed to supporting our students graduating in four years. Winter Session is a great opportunity to get a jump start in reaching that goal,” said Alex Hwu, interim dean of the University’s College of Extended Learning. “We are offering more online courses to create schedule flexibility, allowing students to study at their own pace without location limitations; a true benefit of our student-centered learning environment.”

Winter Session is also open to matriculated and prospective students and is a great way to meet faculty and get acquainted with the campus.

Registration begins Nov. 5. A class schedule and information can be found at cel.sfsu.edu/winter.
