Fall 2021 priority application deadline extended to Dec. 15

The deadline for Fall 2021 priority applications to San Francisco State University has been extended to Dec. 15. The move by the California State University (CSU), the 23-campus system of which San Francisco State is a part, gives prospective students struggling with the process due to complications caused by COVID-19 more time to complete their applications.

“The pandemic has had an impact on so much for potential Gators, from campus tours to their current school and job responsibilities,” said San Francisco State Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management Maria L. Martinez. “That’s why it was important to extend the deadline. With so much made more difficult by COVID-19, it was critical to give more flexibility to people looking to change their lives through a world-class education experience.”

Prospective freshmen, transfer and international students can learn how to submit their applications at future.sfsu.edu/admissions/apply or by attending a Cal State Apply Clinic.

SF State welcomed 3,278 new first-time students this fall, and an additional 3,835 new Gators joined the campus community as transfers. A new partnership between SF State and City College of San Francisco will make it even easier for students from the California Community College system to transfer to the University for the Fall 2021 semester, with lower division transfers available to students who qualify.
