Media Advisory: SF State’s 113th Commencement ceremonies, May 23-24
SAN FRANCISCO, May 8, 2014 -- San Francisco State University’s 113th Commencement ceremonies will be held May 23 and 24.
The celebration kicks off Friday, May 23, when more than 1,400 graduate students will receive their degrees. The undergraduate ceremony will take place Saturday, May 24, honoring more than 7,000 undergraduate students and two honorary degree recipients.

WHEN: Graduate Ceremony: 1:30-4:30 p.m., Friday, May 23
- Keynote speaker: Dr. Rong Wang, UCSF chair of vascular surgery
Undergraduate Ceremony: 12:15-3:30 p.m., Saturday, May 24
- Keynote speaker: Belva Davis, pioneering Bay Area journalist
- Honorary degree recipients: David Walden (B.S. '64), Internet innovator, and Stanley Mazor (attended '60-'65), co-inventor of the microprocessor
