Media Advisory: House Democratic Leader Pelosi to host forum about model STEM education programs

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and Representative Lynn Woolsey (D-CA) will welcome a delegation from San Francisco State University to highlight innovative programs that produce highly qualified graduates in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). SF State leaders will advise congressional leaders and policymakers.

President Obama’s proposed federal budget aims to get America back on the innovation track – one that leads to jobs and a strong economy. SF State offers solutions for cultivating a highly skilled labor force by closing the significant gap among minorities and women in the STEM professions.

A panel of experts will detail the work of San Francisco State University, the California State University system and K-12 educators in California.
