Media advisory: Business and education leaders to discuss the state of the start-up world at inaugural CSU Innovation Series event on June 25
SAN FRANCISCO, June 19, 2015 -- Business and education leaders will share their stories and thoughts on the state of the start-up world at the inaugural CSU (California State University) Innovation Series event in downtown San Francisco on June 25. San Francisco State University and the California Governor's Office of Business Development (GO-Biz) are hosting the event.
Speakers will discuss all aspects of their business or organization's life as a "start-up," including financing and venture funding, staffing and the problems their organizations are aimed at solving. They will also share their thoughts on the challenges of being in a start-up environment and where they see the industry going in the future.

The event marks the first time GO-Biz has partnered with a CSU campus. The goal of the CSU Innovation Series is to highlight the role of SF State and the CSU system as a leader in education, applied research and public service and to expand their potential to produce innovation that leads to new business growth.
SF State President Les Wong and a representative of Governor Jerry Brown's office will deliver opening remarks. John Gumas, chair of the SF State Foundation Board of Directors, will serve as moderator. A reception and presentations of award-winning student projects from the College of Business, College of Science & Engineering and Department of Design and Industry will follow the presentations.
