Unhealthy Air Quality: Thursday, September 10
Dear campus community,
The Bay Area Air Quality Management District is reporting unhealthy air quality conditions for Thursday, September 10 in the City and County of San Francisco.
Sensitive groups should avoid strenuous outdoor activity, limit outdoor activities or consider moving them indoors or rescheduling. Children, older adults and individuals with heart and lung disease are considered especially sensitive and should remain indoors. All others should choose less strenuous activity, reduce or postpone outdoor activity.
For those on campus, a supply of KN95 particulate masks is available for voluntary use. Students living on campus who are sensitive to smoke, visit your residence hall's community desk to pick up a mask. Faculty and staff on campus may go to Environment, Health and Safety located in ADM 260 to pick up a mask from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily this week.
Air quality conditions may be viewed on AirNow.gov. We will continue updating the SF State News site as new information becomes available.
Should air quality this week reach the very unhealthy level as determined by the Air Quality Management District, we will send an update to the campus community.
